When our family moved to Northern Utah 20 years ago, we were looking for ski property and a place to live that had a great sense of community. We also wanted a home in the mountains, yet close enough to metropolitan areas like Salt Lake City and Ogden for the amenities our growing family required. Originally, we looked to the mountains above Salt Lake City, but discovered that those properties were picked over and more expensive than we were willing to spend. Luckily, we found Ogden Valley, just one hour north of Salt Lake City.
Huntsville, Eden and Liberty, Utah are three small communities nestled in a valley above Ogden, Utah and surrounded by mountains and majestic views. This valley is home to three ski resorts, each offering unique opportunities for skiers and snowboarders alike.
Snowbasin Ski Resort, a luxurious resort that hosted the skiing elite in the 2002 Olympics, offers 11 lifts, including gondolas and a tram to access the impeccably groomed runs or challenging back-country acreage. Local secret, Powder Mountain , is a powder hound’s paradise and with over 7,000 acres of skiable terrain, where the crowds are minimal and the snow is epic. Nordic Valley is the perfect resort for learning to ski or enjoying a day on the mountain as a family. With notoriously low lift ticket prices and wonderful after school programs, Nordic Valley is a local hangout for young and old.
All of these resorts make Ogden Valley a prime location to find Northern Utah ski property. At Wolf Creek Resort, there are many opportunities to own or rent while hitting the slopes. The Ridge Luxury Townhomes, The Retreat mountain homesites and The Bridges neighborhood are the three newest projects located within the Wolf Creek Resort community in Eden. Whether you are looking for a townhome or condominium to get away to unwind, or a home to make your own, these projects offer a variety in size and price options.
When we moved to Ogden Valley, not only did we find prime ski property, but we also found an amazing community to raise our kids. With great schools, restaurants, a market and gym, it is easy to retreat to our mountain town and enjoy the tranquility and gorgeous natural surroundings. Eden is definitely a wonderful place to visit, but I am grateful every day that it is a paradise I call home.
